Parameters

INERTIA is organized into four control groups with 9 parameters in total.

Group 01

Physics

Core motion controls set how quickly the waveform is allowed to move and how hard it is pushed into that limit.

Parameter	Range	Default	Description
Mass	0.001 — 1.0	1.0	Maximum slew rate per sample. Lower values constrain signal velocity more aggressively. Log-scaled.
Drive	0 dB — 24 dB	0 dB	Input gain applied before slew processing. Pushes the signal harder into the rate limiter, increasing distortion density.

Group 02

Shape

Independent rise and fall limits let you carve asymmetric attacks and decays or link both back to a single mass control.

Parameter	Range	Default	Description
Rise	0.001 — 1.0	1.0	Maximum allowed upward slew rate per sample. Lower values create slower, more rounded attack edges. Log-scaled. Toggle links Rise to Mass.
Fall	0.001 — 1.0	1.0	Maximum allowed downward slew rate per sample. Lower values create slower, more rounded decay edges. Log-scaled. Toggle links Fall to Mass.
Link	Off / On	Off	When enabled, Rise and Fall track the Mass value. Disable to set independent rise/fall rates.

Group 03

Response

Elastic behavior adds spring and overshoot when the signal changes direction, turning hard clipping into physical rebound.

Parameter	Range	Default	Description
Elasticity	0% — 100%	0%	Spring overshoot amount. When the signal pushes against the slew limit, elasticity adds damped recoil for ringing, bounce, or metallic transient edges.

Group 04

Output

Final filtering, blend, and gain controls help place the processed motion back into the mix.

Tone	-100 — +100	0	Bipolar filter control. Negative values apply a low-pass filter (down to 200 Hz), positive values apply a high-pass filter (up to 5 kHz).
Mix	0% — 100%	100%	Dry/wet blend between the unprocessed input and the slew-limited output.
Output	-24 dB — +24 dB	0 dB	Output gain applied after all processing.
